From today March 12th until Friday 15th, we have in the center the Portuguese guitarist André B. Silva, within the Erasmus+ KA121 2023-2024 program, as a guest expert, who comes to work with our students on improvisation.

These master classes include two sessions of one hour each for groups of between 8 and 10 students of Professional Grade, mixed from different levels and instruments, with whom he will work on how to get started in the world of improvisation, the fear of improvising and working techniques at home and also in groups to improve this skill.

On the other hand, with the students of the optional subjects of Improvisation and Initiation to Jazz of 6th year of Professional Grade will work specifically in groups, where they will deepen in technical and scenic issues of these styles, and there will also be on Friday 15th in the morning a specific session for teachers on “Didactic strategies for the implementation of improvisation in the classroom”. In addition, that same Friday, André will participate in the Podcast of our center “Contos da Miñoca”, lending himself to be interviewed by our colleague Cristian Silva.

As a final touch, on Thursday, March 14th, there will be a Closing Recital with the participation of students attending the course, as well as a trio performance of André B. Silva’s own songs and Jazz standards, with two colleagues from CMUS Professional Vigo, Oscar Rodriguez (Double Bass) and David Outumuro (Percussion).

Here are some photos of the first session of the different groups of students working with André, and how many new things we discovered through the possibilities offered by the Erasmus+ Program!!!!
