Every May 9 commemorates the anniversary of the historic Robert Schumann declaration (French Foreign Minister, not the romantic pianist and composer with the same name), which took place in Paris in 1950.
The Second World War was very recent in Europe and Schumann proposed a new European political cooperation in order to avoid future wars. In that way, he laid the foundations for what is today the European Union. That is why peace and unity in Europe are celebrated every May 9.
The Erasmus+ Commission of the Professional Conservatory of Vigo wants to join these celebrations, sharing a bit of our recent history and sharing some of the initiatives with which this day is celebrated.
Happy Europe Day!
