On 8 and 9 April 2026, as part of the Erasmus+ KA121 2025-26 Project, the David Russell Auditorium will host Masterclasses on “Orchestral Practice, Conducting and Sound Painting”, given by this year’s Guest Expert, Marc Chevalier, from the Conservatoire de Vienne, France. These classes are aimed at students and teachers of the Professional Degree programme at our conservatory.
These classes will be free for all Professional Degree students and teaching staff at CMUS Profesional de Vigo, as they are funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. The registration period will be from 6 to 24 March at the Concierge’s Office.
Students enrolled in Junior and Senior Band, Junior and Senior Orchestra, and Jazz Band will have a master class in orchestral practice on 8 and 9 April, during their regular class time. To participate, remember that you simply need to submit the signed Image Use form that was handed out in class during these days.
In addition to this session, there will be a “Master Class in Conducting and Sound Painting” open to all students enrolled in any professional degree programme, which will take place on Thursday, 9 April, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students who attend this activity will have excused absences if they have a regular class at the centre at the time of the activity.
Of course, as every year, there is also a session dedicated to teachers. It is a “Master Class on Conducting, Sound Painting and Music Learning in the American and French Systems”. This activity will take place on Wednesday, 8 April, from 11:00 to 12:00.
The masterclasses for both students and teachers will be held in the David Russell Auditorium at the CMUS Professional in Vigo, and the classes will be in English.
PLEASE NOTE: Bring your instrument to the classes.
