On 9 and 10 December, Carmen Carreiras and Isabel Figueroa, deputy director and cello teacher respectively, travelled to the Conservatório Regional do Algarve María Campina in Faro (Portugal) to prepare for the student and teacher exchanges that will take place this academic year.
The Conservatório Regional do Algarve María Campina is the leading centre for the study of music and dance in southern Portugal, and has an interesting international programme of exchanges and concerts in Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Isabel and Carmen were welcomed by Irene Ainstein, Erasmus coordinator at the conservatory, and Helena Duarte, Director of Education. During their visit, they toured the conservatory’s facilities, met to plan student and teacher exchanges, met most of the teaching staff, and attended rehearsals by the junior orchestra and choir.
Teachers Irene and Helena had just returned from a concert they gave in Hamburg, with the participation of students and teachers from the conservatory, and despite their fatigue, they welcomed our colleagues with great affection and goodwill.
Once again, the Erasmus Team at CMUS Vigo would like to express our deepest gratitude for the warm welcome given to our colleagues, and we continue to work on planning this exciting mobility programme in our neighbouring country.
